Chinese to stop alcohol cravings; I think it was a short thing in the
Science section of the NY Times, more than 10 years ago. (I shared
with my home group that I didn't know if it worked, but if I had to
hazzard a guess as to how it worked, maybe the prescription was to dig
the roots out -they go down 10-20 feet- and by that time you'd have no
cravings!).
If it works, keep doing what you're doing. There is obviously
something wrong, chemically, with us alcoholics, so if it helps you
may have found an aid to recovery. AA does not claim to have all the
answers, nor the only answer.
One thing I have noticed, any time scientists or doctors found what
they thought was an aid to help alcoholics stop drinking: they still
felt that joining AA (that is, working the program) was the most
important thing.
